Gutter Cleaning
A blocked gutter does not stop at the gutter.
A gutter that cannot drain sends water over its edge, down the fascia board, and against the foundation. The gutter is the cheapest part of that chain, and it is the only part you can fix by cleaning it.
In this region gutters fill with fir needles, cedar debris, and shingle granules — usually twice a year, and faster if the house is under tree cover.
Signs the gutters are blocked
- Water spilling over the front edge of the gutter during rain
- Plants growing out of the gutter — it is holding soil at that point
- Staining or peeling paint down the fascia board behind the gutter
- Water pooling near the foundation after rain
- A downspout that stays dry while the gutter overflows
- Sagging along a run of gutter, which means it is holding standing water
What the service includes
- Clearing all gutter runs by hand
- Flushing downspouts and confirming they actually drain
- Checking that water leaves the downspout away from the foundation
- Reporting loose hangers, separated seams, and sagging runs
- Removal of the debris from your property
How we do it
Clear, then flush
Scooping the gutter is half the job. If the downspout is still packed, the gutter fills again in the first storm.
Check where the water goes
A clear downspout that dumps against the foundation has moved the problem, not solved it. We tell you if the drainage needs attention.
Flag what is failing
Loose hangers and separated seams are cheap now and expensive after they rot the fascia. You hear about them while we are up there.
